1. Boost Classroom Productivity with Smart SynchronEyes Classroom Management Software
SynchronEyes from SMART is a classroom management software which connects a teacher's computer with every computer in a networked classroom. SynchronEyes software is easy to use and offers a variety of features that enable an instructor to keep students focused on learning and can redirect their attention if they get off track. You can communicate, monitor or collaborate with students individually or as a group, so everyone gets the most out of class time.
The latest software version is 7.0, and it can be used with any combination of desktop computers, wireless laptops or mobile devices. Version 7.0 has also captured the interest of corporate and military trainers around the world because it enables them to log on to their network and connect with participants using mobile devices. SynchronEyes software 7.0 is compatible with all Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Version 7.0 helps instructors direct the flow of information in the class because they can monitor each desktop and control all computers and learning devices. When a student is struggling, instructors can highlight key points on the student's computer screen or broadcast their own screen to the entire group. Instructors can then create a quiz to check each student's level of understanding. Additionally, instructors can refocus student's interest by locking their computers or learning devices. With SynchronEyes, students can send a message to their instructor through the chat feature and ask confidential questions. The software allows instructors to provide quick answers, saving them from moving from person to person and potentially disturbing the rest of the class. SynchronEyes 7.0 offers additional security, with 256-bit encryption (as used in online banking), which helps to keep content protected from intruders using wireless networks.
"SynchronEyes is an excellent classroom management tool," says Kevin Cavanaugh of United Visual's Educational Sales team. SynchronEyes has wowed United Visual clients with the capability to transfer documents electronically from the participant to the facilitator. All participants are able to submit their action plans at once.
Today corporate and military trainers are looking for products that increase professional productivity and collaboration from their students. SynchronEyes classroom management software 7.0 addresses this need and helps trainers ensure each participant is on track.
SynchronEyes classroom management software 7.0 is currently available and can be purchased at a per training-room license, which includes one Teacher-edition install and unlimited Student-edition installs. SMART's training-room license allows system administrators to add more student computers to any training room already using SynchronEyes classroom management software without paying additional fees for software licensing. Volume discounts are also available. For more details, a demo or upgrade information please call your United Visual representative.

2. Nothing Spooky About This Treat From Mitsubishi. The FL6900Boo, We Mean U!
Mitsubishi introduced its FL6900U projector designed for commercial and education
installations. At a manufacturer's suggested retail price of only $9,995, Mitsubishi continues to
lead the market for high-brightness 1080p projectors at low price points.
Mitsubishi consistently offers high brightness and robust features at price points that are well
below the competition, and the FL6900U is no exception. It's designed for budget-conscious people who need high brightness and high definition at a reasonable price.
Mitsubishi's FL6900U offers a combination of 4000 lumens with full 1080p high-definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution for commercial venues with high ambient lighting such as sports bars, restaurants, hotel conference rooms, school auditoriums and corporate boardrooms.
The projector provides RS232 support for compatibility with third-party control systems. With remote-controlled automated horizontal and vertical lens shift, automated zoom and focus and digital keystone correction, install is a breeze. Optional lenses (short, long, tele-zoom and rear-projection) allow this projector to be easily installed in a wide variety of venues and applications.
Shhhhhhh
Using three robust 1.1 inch 3LCD inorganic panels that are durable and long-lasting, the FL6900U operates quietly at an approximate 29 decibel level (in low mode) so the audience can concentrate on a presentation rather than listen to a loud projector. It also provides estimated lamp life of up to 4000 hours (in low mode).
The FL6900U can create side-by-side images for enhanced video conferencing applications that include a live video feed and simultaneous presentations on the same screen, making
presentations more captivating and dynamic. Blasting 4000 ANSI lumens, the projector is also perfect for large venues where ambient light can be a factor. It offers RJ45 networking support for easy online management and control.
With a built-in motion-sensitive anti-theft alarm, Mitsubishi's FL6900U is designed to deter projector theft from public areas such as classrooms, auditoriums or other open-access conference room settings. The motion detector is built into the connector panel cover, and is set manually with a key. Once the cover is installed and the safety key removed, the projector's alarm is automatically set. If the projector is moved, a loud (estimated 120 decibels), attention-grabbing alarm will sound to deter projector thefts.
The projector also uses a menu password lock for additional security as well as a splash screen to show ownership or location.
The projector is currently available and comes with Mitsubishi's three-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a one-year limited warranty on the original lamp.

3. Shure Podcasts on iTunes Cover The Fundamentals of Wired And Wireless Microphones.
Did you know? Shure Incorporated has posted several new educational podcasts, called Shurecasts, on the Company's website and on iTunes that cover the basics of wired and wireless microphones. Topics include "Transducers," "Frequency Response" and "Directionality" for wired microphones, and "Choosing the Right System," "Frequency Selection," and "Antennas" for wireless microphones. Pretty cool, huh?
These are just a handful in a series of podcasts Shure has already created and are continuing to produce as part of their overall education program. For years, Shure has had an extensive library of educational booklets and articles available on their website, which have been very popular.
Other Shurecasts that are currently available cover a variety of audio topics, including Sound Isolating Earphones, Stereo Miking Techniques, the SM57 and SM58® microphones, and White Spaces. Each episode includes a brief introduction to a particular segment of audio technology, such as microphones or earphones, and audible demonstrations.
Additional Shurecasts will be released on a regular basis, approximately one per month, and some episodes will include interviews with artists and engineers.

4. Peerless Corners The Market With The First Ever Direct Corner Flat Panel Mounting System.
Need to mount a flat panel but the only space available is in a corner? No problem! Peerless Industries has introduced the first-of-its-kind true direct corner mounting solutions. The line includes three innovative solutions engineered to utilize corner space while providing secure support for flat panel screens from 32 to 60 inches. These corner-mounting solutions are easily installed and work in unison with accessories for A/V component and speaker mount placement.
There simply isn't anything else like this on the market. Peerless' corner mounting solutions offers a new world of possibility for areas that have typically been underutilized in places like waiting rooms, classrooms and malls. From now on 'getting cornered' will have a whole new meaning.
The Corner Mounting System Line
The line includes three models that accommodate a wide range of screen sizes. Two of the models, the CM50 (-S) and CM60 (-S), are compatible with a selection of Peerless flat/tilt wall mounts enabling the desired functionality for 32-inch to 60-inch flat panel installations. The third mount, the CM850 (-S), is a complete, universal corner mounting solution with pull-out swivel functionality allowing screen size upgrades without removing the mount from the wall.
Corner Mount Accessories
The line includes an accessory shelf that provides discreet storage for a variety of A/V components. The shelving is easily attached to the inside and/or the top of the mount or one of each, creating a number of storage options for A/V accessories. In addition, speakers can be attached directly onto the mount (depending on screen size) thus creating an organized, all-inclusive A/V system. All of the mounts are available in black or silver to coordinate with most flat panel screens.

5. Sharp's 108-Inch LCD Now Available!
Sharp has announced the September U.S. availability of the world's largest commercially available LCD Monitor. Model LB-1085, a 108-inch class (107.5 inches Diagonal, 52.9-inches high by 93.9-inches wide) full HD 1080p LCD Monitor, features an Advanced Super View LCD panel that is manufactured at Sharp's Kameyama Plant No. 2, the first plant in the world to use 8th generation glass substrates. With this development, Sharp has demonstrated that it is now possible to produce LCDs in all screen size classes ranging from 19-inch class (18-61/64" Diagonal) to super-large sizes.
The LB-1085 features 6.21 million pixels (1,920 x 1,080 x RGB) and a TFT (thin-film transistor) active-matrix drive system. It offers an array of inputs, including HDMI and DVI-I connectors, for greater connectivity with a wide variety of equipment and devices. A fan-less design minimizes noise and intake of dust from outside air to further improve its level of technical sophistication as a commercial display.
Since developing the world's first 14-inch color TFT LCD TV in 1988, Sharp has consistently led the industry with larger screen sizes, introducing the first 45-inch class model in 2004 and the first 65-inch class (64-17/32" Diagonal) model. In addition to leading the movement toward larger screen sizes, Sharp has met the demand for superior image quality by achieving such "firsts" as a resolution that is four times higher than that of current HD (4096 x 2160), the world's highest contrast ratio (1,000,000:1) and the ultimate in fast-motion image processing with 120 Hz frame rate conversion and an incredible pixel response time of 4ms.
Sharp is working to further the evolution of LCD technology based on the success of developing the LB-1085, and will continue, as a leading manufacturer of LCD TVs and Monitors, to develop state-of-the-art products.
